Joel Katz and I teaming up to fund Atlanta charities

Joel Katz and I are joining forces. Watch out Atlanta.

Joel is the chairman emeritus of the Annual Best Cellars Dinner which benefits the T.J. Martell Foundation, the foundation, headquartered in New York with divisions in Nashville covering the southeast and in Los Angeles covering the west coast, raises money to fund leukemia, cancer and AIDS research. In Atlanta, the foundation supports the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University.

He asked me to host their event this year, and I am pleased to oblige!

Joel Katz is recognized as powerful but more often what people say about him is how involved he is on a personal level. For me, it combines the love of music and as a reporter my job is to bring the latest news about what is going on. I couldn’t think of a better group to do it with.

There was a kick off party sponsored by Greenberg Traurig, where he heads the firm's global entertainment and media practice.

A bunch of stars came out to support the event and causes:
Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Jason Geter of Grand Hustle, Todd Rushing of Concentric Restaurants and his wife Laurie, Chris Clemons, UGA grad and star defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks, Kristen Hard of Cacao Atlanta, Mala Sharma of City National Bank's Entertainment Division, Grammy Board Member Tammy Hurt, Rasheed Muhammad of SunTrust Entertainment Group, Sharliss Asbury, Dr. Larry Boise and Dr. Fadlo Khury of Emory University School of Medicine, Cindy Brusco of Red Light Management, Bill Hajjar of Senzari, Peggy Johnson of Callonwalde Music and dinner committee members Cyndae Arrendale and Marie Hannon.

I'll be sharing the hosting duties with Larry Beckwith, Robert Polay and David Kurzweil on Oct. 26 at the Buckhead Ritz-Carlton. The dinner is being co-chaired by Don Perry and Dr. Bill Torres, and the wine host co-chairs are Angelle and Art Hamilton and Merry McCleary and Ann Pasky. Entertainment Advisory Board co-chairs are Lonnie Cooper, Bernard Parks and Steve Smith.
Sponsorship levels begin at $1,700 and individual tickets are $800. Contact LHuck@TJMartell.org for more information.

I'm in the Big Apple at the awesome Cutting Room - again!

I'm back now to sing there again for another launch party... last night NASH 94.7 who brought country music back to NYC.... thru a big par-tay.
Didja know that the Cutting Room is owned by Chris Noth, who has starred in “Sex and The City”, “Law & Order” , “The Good Wife”??? Yup.

Sugarland's Bush says I'll never make it as a rock star

The Columbus Ohio Dispatch did a nice story on me recently. They reached out to Sugarland's Bush and here's what he said about my lifestyle and why I'll never be a ROCK STAR...

“She seems like she’s on her way. But she’s gonna have to change her hours: No self-respecting rock star gets up that early!”

HA! He's right. Getting up a 2 a.m during the week and then staying out late on the weekends working would be a killer. Might be fun to try tho'

YourTango.com was impressed that I wrote love song to hubster

YourTango.com did a nice feature in their CelebLove section about my love life. They like that I wrote a love song for my hubby.
YourTango: What was the last thing you did to show your husband you love him?
Robin Meade: I wrote a few of the songs on Count On Me about my husband. While one of them is a frank look at the yin and yang of love, another song, There's You, is a melt-your-heart ballad.

There's more personal stuff on their website. Including the best love advice I ever got.
Check it out.
