I'll be on stage with teevee friend Monica Pearson tonite in the Georgia World Congress Center for the 35th Georgia Music Hall of Fame awards.
The red carpet is rolled out at 6 with the awards show starting at 8. The program and show will be televised live by GPB (Georgia Public Broadcasting).
Dr. Bobbie Bailey said about the awards...
"Hip-hop superstars Goodie Mob and CeeLo Green will be presented the Performer Award, while the trail-blazing KANSAS will receive the Group Award on the 40th anniversary of their music career. This year would have marked Whitney Houston's 50th birthday, we are proud to confer the Posthumous Award in memory of this legendary artist. Her brother Gary Houston, a member of her ensemble for 20 years, will perform a special tribute during the program."
The stellar roster of inductees also includes:
• The Forester Sisters – Pioneer Award
• Non-Performer Award – James ("Alley Pat") Patrick
• Pat Alger – Songwriter Award
