I'm not the future Annika, but I'm loving GOLF!!!

I can't believe it took me so long to even try golf. I used to mutter under my breath if my husband had a charity tournament to play. Now, I'm looking to see what I can play in next. I'm definitely not the future Annika, but I'm loving the game, the social connection, and the challenge.

I'm teaming up withe PGA.com, along with The PGA of America to encourage more women to play golf. I will be playing in the Pro-Am prior to TNT's coverage of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf from Bermuda's Port Royal Golf Course. TNT's coverage of the PGA Grand Slam of Golf will air Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 4–7 p.m. ET/PT and Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 4–8 p.m. ET/PT, with exclusive early-round coverage on both days of the tournament on PGA.com.

Look for the woman with the lousy swing, but great outfit! :-)

I'll be showing you highlights during the week of Oct. 15. Watch as I go from the golf shop to the tee with lessons and tips including: proper and fashionable attire, equipment, the physical mechanics of hitting a golf ball, etiquette and some of the myths about women playing golf.

Suzy Whaley, two-time Connecticut PGA Teacher of the Year and District 1 Director of the PGA Board of Directors, introduced Meade to the game through the PGA of America's "Get Golf Ready" program, an exciting initiative that introduces beginners and returning players to golf in a relaxed, affordable and fun environment.

"Robin's enthusiasm for the game is infectious and I know that PGA Professionals and all who care about golf are excited to share in her passion for the game," said Allen Wronowski, President of The PGA of America. "Through Get Golf Ready, people such as Robin are discovering the joy of learning the game, and wanting to get on the course to play it even more."
